You do. AIF is self-hosted: the books live in files on YOUR server, not on ours. You can export a full JSON backup from the Admin Centre at any time and take your data with you.
Yes — your data lives on your server, protected by .htaccess rules, HTTPS, CSRF tokens on every action and a 15-minute login lockout after repeated failures. The audit log records every sign-in and change.
One click in the Admin Centre downloads a complete JSON snapshot of all your data. Restoring is just as simple — and a restore point of the current data is saved automatically before anything is replaced. We also recommend cPanel's own full-account backups for the files themselves.
AIF ships with Zambia built in — ZMW base currency, 16% VAT, PAYE, NAPSA and NHIMA. Country and currency are configurable per workspace: 16 currency symbols are built in and any other code works with amounts, plus a live FX desk with editable ZMW rates. If your country isn't listed at signup, choose the closest and set your own tax rate.
The VAT rate and settings are yours to set per workspace, with a monthly VAT summary and a ZRA-ready CSV export. PAYE bands, NAPSA and NHIMA caps are built in. AIF calculates what you configure — it never files returns and it doesn't give legal or tax advice.
Yes — start a fresh workspace and enter your opening balances as one balanced journal, and you are live. A CSV import wizard (with template, preview and rollback) is on the roadmap; today everything is entered directly.
Yes — add them as a user from the Admin Centre and they get their own login with their own workspace. Reports drill down to the source of every number, the audit log shows every change, and backups download in one click. A dedicated read-only accountant role is on the roadmap; today roles are user and admin.
It means every module works today, with no card and no paywall. There is no billing built into the product yet — team features and paid plans are a future decision, and nothing is locked behind a trial.
Email support through the product, plus self-help built in: the Page Layout guide, the Admin Centre's system health checks, and a system doctor page that diagnoses installation issues in one screen. There is no phone line today — support is by email, honestly.
The Copilot answers questions in plain language using your live data — balances, who owes the most, what's expiring. It is read-only by design: it explains and suggests, it never posts transactions or makes decisions for you, and it is not a tax advisor.
